In this work a digitally assisted complementary telescopic amplifier with wide input common mode range is presented. Digital assistance is taken to switch amplifiers on/off as per input DC level to reduce power consumption. The proposed design shows an improvement in common mode range by 26.8% and 85.7% over conventional NMOS and PMOS differential pair based telescopic amplifier respectively. A simple scheme to trade between elevated performance and power consumption is also presented. The complete design is implemented using UMC 180 nm technology and the simulation results are presented.
